MHA Board Accomplishments

MHA BOARD’S RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ACTIVITIES 
 
  • Installed a temporary Board to help reestablish the MHA
  • Filled 9 Board Positions & 2 Advisors
  • Got the Association out of “Dissolution” with the State of Florida
  • Established legal counsel for the Association.
  • Held election to fill the 9 Board positions and elected officers
  • Reestablished communications with Park Management and Sun
  • Got Sun to acknowledge all residents defined as Mobile Homes under Statute 723, to have their rights under FL State Statute 723. Some size limits may prevail.
  • Secured a reduction in the $1250 annual subletting fee to $750. (Still believed to be illegal.)
  • Got the stated $1000 home selling fee question, to not exist.
  • Expanded Park & Resident run activities for all park residents.
  • Communicated resident concerns to Park management and Sun.
  • Submitted and documented numerous “calls to action” to Sun concerning rent, lack of Amenities and services required per the Prospectus.
  • Asked for, lobbied for and got a 15 and in most cases 18 month increase in the reduced rent tp $699 per month through calendar 2026.   (Est. $1.2 million in savings for 350 residents)
  • Overseeing the RV Residents Assoc. residents desire to be included in the MHA.
  • Revised and did an initial updating of the Association By-Laws to include all eligible residents.
  • New Assoc. Facebook page for community communications
  • A new Resident communication system for emails, calls, texts is being developed.
  • Got Sun to eliminate the $40 seller home inspection fee.
  • Addressed the Water meter Installation and access issues. Currently on hold.
  • New Electric Pedestal corrosion and safety issues addressed with Sun. 
  • Proper Association liability plus D & O Insurance has been shopped, evaluated  and proposals in hand.
  • Added pool furniture requested and in place.
  • Working towards establishing an Association Legal Reserves fund. 
  • Got the required Community Bulletin Board replaced. (they put it in back of Iroquois hall}
  • Connected with the Park’s Activity and Management staff to help plan and align future activities.
  • Established local and Corporate email address for messaging 
  • Establishing MHA Committees to handle the following;
    • Subletting and Rental program and help
    • Environmental & Safety Issues
    • Infrastructure oversight
    • Activities & Fund raising
    • Budget and record keeping
    • Membership & Communications
